Top Ways for Getting Blog Ideas

After starting a blog you will need to have plenty of content to fill the pages. It can be a challenge to come up with the various things to write about. I like to do brainstorming but the best way for me to find blog ideas is to search on the web.

Here are some of my top ways of getting hot topics to blog about. First you will have to change your perspective while surfing the net. Because you can find some pretty amazing subjects that you have not thought of using before.

For instance Homeschooling is one of those niches that can go on for days, you will never run out of things to talk about in reference to the many methods it takes to teach a child at home.

Its easy to overlook the obvious

As a writer we sometimes cover topics that we have not personally experienced first hand and in that case it leaves us at a disadvantage. An example of this is that I recently wrote an article about the growing trend of un-traditional learning, and of course I mentioned how parents can use the internet to find resources as they teach their children about academics.

What I forgot to include were things such as setting up a homeschool classroom, and this is a critical part of the process for many parents.

As you can see once you find a topic even if it is a competitive one, you will notice some micro niches hiding inside the larger niche.

Okay on to my top ways of finding blog ideas

Now that you have some insight on looking at content with a new perspective, lets discuss where to find your golden topics.

I like to go to the big brand name spots like Yahoo, MSN, AOL and even Bing because they usually have a high trafficked area on the homepage that will list catchy topics ranging from health, wealth and relationships.

Another place I like to go is to the authority sites that cater to a specific group of people like the Sports channel or Food channel or Entertainment channel, one reason is because these types of sites pay big money to have SEO experts and researchers find out what people what most.

I know these are some pretty obvious places to look but why make things harder on yourself than they have to be. Go where the big fish are at and then you can catch you some trout.
